Denny Schey Biography

Denny is originally from Ohio, the land of the Buckeyes.

Denny learned landscaping, gardening, and his love of trees from his grandfather, starting over 50 years ago. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy, working in communications, for 6 years (stationed in Italy for 3.) Returning to Ohio in his twenties, he joined the Men’s Garden Club and started learning from “the old timers.”

Denny helped develop a moisture control sensor for root systems at Hancor, in Findlay, Ohio. He worked with his best friend, who owns a landscaping company, planning and planting landscapes, and taking arbor related classes such as botany and chemistry at Findlay College.

Denny received his Bachelor of Science degree from BGSU in Bowling Green, Ohio. He worked as an electronic technician and engineer in the semiconductor field for over twenty years.

Denny loved growing produce in his gardens in Ohio, Texas, Arizona, and Oklahoma. Because of his passion, Denny continues his pursuit of excellence in the arboricultural industry, and loves sharing his knowledge with others.
